MARINE CORPS LEAGUE
SOUTH RANGE, MICHIGAN

The Keweenaw Detachment #1016 of the Marine Corps League was chartered on May 5, 1999 with 44 charter members.  Today we have about 100 members and growing.   We service four counties in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan: Houghton, Keweenaw, Baraga, and Ontonagon.

 




Mission Statement:
We serve and aid Marines, their families, veterans, and our local communities

Annual Activities:
Toys for Tots and Toys for Area Youth campaign, award scholarships for advanced education, annual flag giveaway on Flag day, placing flags on all veterans graves at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton, MI, provide color guards and honor guards for local parades and memorial ceremonies, and provide military rites for local veterans.

The detachment meets the third Thursday of each month at 7:00pm at the VFW Post 6165 in South Range, Michigan.
